I am a creative strategist and an award-winning producer at the intersection of media, technology, and storytelling.

I bring a lifetime of artistry, a fascination with data, and a decade of high-stakes founder experience to take ideas from pitch to product.

Career Story (Abridged)
I studied poli sci and econ at the University of Washington, and began my career in data analysis & web development. 

A few months later, my music went viral — launching an 8-year career of writing, producing, and touring that took me around the world. 

In the midst of this, I co-created an award-winning podcast, topping global charts and featuring dozens of celebrity guests.

Vallis Alps (2015 - 2023)

Blending synth pop, downtempo electronica, and hip-hop influences into wistful but not too nostalgic songs, Vallis Alps is the project of vocalist Parissa Tosif and producer David Ansari. Their 2015 debut EP, featuring the hit single “Young,” peaked at #2 on the iTunes electronic charts and landed #27 on Triple J’s Hottest 100. Their 2017 EP Fable propelled them internationally with sold-out shows and festival appearances at SXSW, Reading, Leeds, and Splendour in the Grass. In 2023, Vallis Alps released their critically acclaimed debut album Cleave, with performances at the Sydney Opera House and venues worldwide.

      Cru Cuts: The Living Room Talkshow (2016-2019)

      Cru Cuts was a guerilla talkshow and benevolent cult created by members of Vallis Alps, Mansionair, and Breathe. They worked to advance the arts by hosting underground events for electronic musicians, including masterclasses, panel discussions, secret DJ sets, and more. All events were free and invite-only, with attendees selected randomly from a pool of applicants who registered their interest via crucuts.com on a per-event basis. 

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      Creative directed all branding: defined brand identity, designed all assets across mediums (posters, guest brief, promotional USB’s filled with drum samples, video graphics)

      Led production of video and podcast

      Built crucuts.com website & managed mailing lists

      UX RESEARCH



      Uptime (2014-2015)

      Uptime was a monthly design sprint and hackathon, created to better understand user priorities around product design. Participants were given design challenges in envelopes and worked against the clock to collaboratively create solutions in the form of prototypes, using art supplies, basic building materials, shapes, objects, connectors, and widgets.

      Defined focus areas and led participants through an inclusive HCDE process (ask question ➡️ build context ➡️ ideate ➡️ design ➡️ prototype ➡️ test ➡️ reflect)

      Observed participants, recorded results, and conducted interviews to further understand user priorities and behavior

      I created (and sold) an NFT in 2021 that was one of the first NFT’s to use photorealistic AI imagery of human faces, and featured my original music.
